What to expect living at Agnes Jones

Student events offer our students a chance to connect in a friendly atmosphere, supporting socialization during their time at university.

  • 01

Shared understanding with other students and staff

Connect with others who truly get what you're going through.

  • 02

    Open & honest conversation

Discuss the challenging aspects of life and mental health in an open environment, free from judgment.

  • 03

    Building a community

Build genuine connections with people who understand true uni life.

  • Mental health focused events

From journal decorating, vision and affirmation boards. We always try to include events to boost students' mental health. These creative activities not only provide an outlet for self-expression but also encourage positive thinking and self-discovery.

  • Weekly game nights

Weekly game nights allow students an opportunity to socialise and bond over common interests. Specifically for young adults dealing with mental health challenges during this complex life stage.

  • Food & drink events

Every week, we celebrate a few national food days that provide students with the chance to step out of their rooms, socialize with peers, or grab a quick snack on the move. It also offers students a chance to sample new foods and discover delightful treats they might not typically purchase for themselves.

  • Weekly movie nights

Movie nights are held for our students each Wednesday from 8pm. Drinks and snacks are put out to students. Longer movie marathons for occasions such as Halloween and Christmas are also held.

Holidays away from home

For many students, spending the holidays away from home with us can be both mentally isolating and challenging.

  • Easter Egg Decorating

Students can participate in our Easter egg hunts or create decorations to brighten up their rooms.

  • St. Patrick's Scavenger Hunt

We hide chocolate gold coins along with vouchers for students to discover, bringing joy back into their busy schedules.

  • Halloween Party and Flat Decorating Competitions

Our biggest party of the year is our Halloween party, providing pizza, games and other snacks. We also do a best dress contest and flat decorating.
